More Showers and Thunderstorms on Monday SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB) — After a very active day of severe weather across western Massachusetts, more showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast for tomorrow. Earlier today, a funnel cloud was confirmed in the Springfield area, but no tornado touched down. However, to our south, an EF0 tornado was confirmed in Wolcott, CT. Tonight will be mostly cloudy early on, but more showers and thunderstorms will move in from the south after midnight. Some of the storms could be strong to severe, especially during the morning commute. After some midday sunshine tomorrow, more showers and storms will fire up in the afternoon. Again, they could be strong to severe with damaging winds and hail. A cold front will finally move through tomorrow evening and clear the nasty weather out of the area. Tuesday will be mostly sunny with lower levels of humidity. Highs will only make it into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. The nice weather should stick around through late week with seasonable highs in the lower 80s. For the last week of July, no sustained heat or humidity is in the forecast.
