More hot and muggy today with more t-storms than were expected - TopicsExpress

More hot and muggy today with more t-storms than were expected this afternoon. Moisture in the mid levels increased a lot faster ahead of a trough of low pressure, so we had support for showers/t-storms and even some marginally severe storms in the area this afternoon. We are still targeting Wednesday morning and afternoon to see even more storms, with the possibility of severe weather. For the rest of tonight, well watch storms in SW AL move NE and get close to the Wiregrass, but most of the storms will stay north of us. Another linear storm complex will form behind that one, which will impact our area by early tomorrow morning. After midnight, expect t-storms with potentially damaging winds and small hail. The line will move from west to east, but the individual storms will move more SW to NE. Storms will stay with us through the early morning, and into the morning commute. As the line moves out, clusters of showers and t-storms will form for the late morning and early afternoon, with the same motion, mainly SW to NE. More severe weather is possible with these storms as well. So, please be vigilant through Wednesday, and be sure to stay tuned to WTVY, on the air and online through all our social media accounts. Through the rest of the work week, stormy weather will continue, but not to the extent that we have in store for Wednesday. On Thursday/Friday well have more typical values for rain/storm chances during the early summer (30-40%) with highs near 90° each day. Chances of rain stay the same for the weekend, with the pattern shifting to more sea breeze induced t-storms and rain chance. Temperatures will also stay near 90° thru the weekend.
