More thoughts on Auburn: People are so infatuated with the Malzahn/Auburn offense. It is good. Dont get me wrong, but nobody in the media seems to even know how to decsribe it or identify what it is. I have heard it called a running game spread. I have heard it called an inverted veer. It is not anything new. It is an old school offense with some added wrinkles that is played at a hurry-up style pace. It is basically the Wing-T offense. Zone-reads and the read-option is the nucleus for the Wing-T. That is all it is. A hurry-up Wing-T with some play-action and wheel routes added in.
