More welfare reform is coming to Maine. Despite liberals in the Legislature refusing to help the Governor stop fraud and abuse; the Governor is taking action on his own. His administration announced yesterday they are moving forward with putting Photo ID on welfare EBT cards. Heads of households and secondary card holders will have the photos. Residents younger than 19, older than 60, blind or disabled or victims of domestic violence, will be exempt from the requirement; so the requirement is being done with protecting the truly vulnerable in society in mind. The Governor, who was homeless in his youth, wants benefits to go to those who really need it and not to fraud and abuse. Please share.
