Mormon update for those who have been following: Yes, way overdue. I know. Ive recently moved and lost contact with the two Mormons I had been debating and discussing with. When I finally got around to texting them, two NEW Mormons answered, which tells me they get Mormon phones for their area, and pass them on to replacements. They informed me the other two had been relocated and would like to meet with me, even after knowing I was atheist because thats how I started my text out to the old ones. Hey its Mike the atheist from... Lol. So I told them we can meet, but I wanted to bring an ex Mormon friend with me and we can do lunch somewhere in their area. And the reason I told them for the friend and debate style meeting is because I enjoy talking all things religious and skeptic as well, and I like to speak with theists who dont mind hard pressed questioning, civilly of course, so that I can learn their beliefs and we can all get an understanding of eachother. They agreed and seem excited. Hopefully we can get some skepticism through to them and give them a little food for thought upon departure with the help an input of an ex Mormon. Its not to deconvert, but ultimately that would be nice. This first meeting I want to get a feel of them, and if it goes good enough for a second round maybe we can dig deeper into their belief system and get them to see it from an objectionable point of view. Mormons are not supposed to read material not church approved. I got the last two to read Disproving Christianity. Dont doubt me just yet. Plus I have awesome back up this time. So the Saturday after next ill be back with details. Stay tuned. : )
