#MorningDevotion: Avoid convenient Christianity Matthew 16:24 “Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” In today’s era, there are so many television programs and so little time yet we would like to watch all of them. So some people have come up with mini-programs that have ensured that shows are shorter and more convenient for viewers. This is all to make our lives more convenient. Some people have tried to make the Christian life more convenient by choosing to practice Christianity on Sunday only. They attend a religious service at whatever church that makes them most comfortable, give a small offering and are nice to fellow church goers. In a nut shell, they do nothing that requires much effort on their part. This however should not be the kind of lives we should be living as believers of Christ. Being a disciple calls for giving up our lives for Christ. It’s all about living as Jesus calls us to live, daily giving up our strong will and yielding to the will of God. Let us live our lives devoted wholly to Christ.
