Most diets have one thing in common, a reduction in overall calorie intake. This can be achieved with a low fat, low carb, paleo, sugar free etc diet but what it comes down to is a reduction in overall food energy intake. If these diets work for you and you are feeling good, getting adequate nutrition and able to maintain in long term then there is no reason not to do them. Just keep in mind that there are no special foods that are more ‘fattening’ than others.
