Most people reckon Legend/Champion gelding, Phar Lap was the perfect horse, because he had that heart of a legend. Reasons why he would been called Perfect horse: 1. He stood only 17.1 hh 2. he raced when he was pretty sick (not VERY sick) 3. He raced with a damaged hoof and still won 4. His heart weighed more than an normal horse heart would weigh 5. he had a perfect stride 6. No one knew what really happened to the champ after he got badly sick But most importantly... He had people who really believed in him But before he was that legend he had to transform into a swan... because he was an Ugly duckling (he had warts all over his face and he was in terrible condition when Telford first saw him, People called him names, Far Lad Galloping Giraffe Rocket Bullock Bum (He was only called that for a joke by the trainers thinking Phar Lap wont win a race) In Agua Caliente, Phar Lap raced against the Best horses in the country, and close to the end of the Race, Phar Lap was being pulled up by his jockey, and Reveille Boy got to the lead but Phar Lap was NOT finished left and went back to the lead with his injured hoof and killed the field by 3 lengths setting a new track record.
