Moving from San Diego to Buffalo was the most humbling experience of my life. I had everything going for me in my home town but my heart felt dark. For years I tried what seemed like everything to get my music heard and finish my first album. I dealt with false hopes from record labels. People who said they wanted to work with me but all they really wanted was my money. I developed a strong but dark heart because the thing that meant the most to me, my music, was being trampled on and not taken serious. I was pissed. I buckled down and said that if I want to cut a record Im going to have to do it myself. So I started the journey making The Ride. I had to move. I cant call an album The Ride without physically going on a journey. I wanted to test myself and I wanted to spiritually set myself free. In a matter of a day I just did it. I packed my car with my clothes, music equipment and cat. With only a thousand dollars and printed google directions I took off to Buffalo. I told my friends and family I was going on a road trip and I was taking off the rest of the year. They all thought I was crazy. #SinglesCelebration #everbe #katieann
