Moving on with my review of the Golden Decade of Music 1965-1974, - TopicsExpress

Moving on with my review of the Golden Decade of Music 1965-1974, where I am selecting the artists alphabetically and playing selections of their songs I liked or found influential from that Golden Decade. The next artist I am selecting to play a couple from is The Cowsills, a singing group from Newport, RI. They specialized in harmonies and the ability to sing and play music at an early age. The band originally consisted of only 3 of the Cowsill brothers, Bill, Bob, and Barry, eventually adding John. After their initial success, the brothers were joined by their siblings Susan and Paul and their mother Barbara. The Cowsills were the inspiration for the 1970 launch of the television show The Partridge Family. The next song I am selecting is Hair”, the title song to the 1968 musical Hair. The cover song was a major hit single for The Cowsills in 1969 and their most successful single. Their version spent two weeks at #1 on the Cash Box Top 100 and reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. https://youtube/watch?v=aAk8z2PLOmc
