Mr. David Jones DIRECTOR FOREIGN OPPERATION Debt Reconciliation Committee - Since 1/1/2004 Mr David Jones was born in Abeokuta, Ogun State into the family of Chief Ezekiel Olukolajo Jones and Mrs Eunice Jones on December, 28, 1959. He attended the famous Lisabi Grammar School, Abeokuta between 1972 and 1976. He worked briefly as a teacher under the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission. He thereafter proceeded to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) to read Accountancy in 1980. In 1984, Mr. Jones passed out from UNN with a First Class Degree in Accountancy. He completed the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) Examination in 1986 and bagged the 3rd over all Best Prize. Mr. David Jones started his Career with Arthur Andersen, a Consulting firm where he worked as staff Auditor and Consultant between 1985 – 1988 before leaving for SCOA Nigerian Plc as Consolidations Manager between 1988 and 1989. Mr. Jones transferred his services to Chartered Bank Limited where he was Credit Officer, Corporate Banking, between 1989 and 1990 before leaving for Equatorial Trust Bank as Assistant General Manager (Treasury and Financial Institutions Division). He was the acting Head of Treasury Department before he left the Bank in 1992. Between March 1992 and May 1993, he worked with Manufacturers’ Merchant Bank and was in charge of Export and Multilateral Institutions Department of the Bank and in June 1993, he joined Peak Merchant Bank Limited as Assistant General Manager, Treasury and Financial Institutions Divisions. He was also in charge of the Management of the Bank’s Deposit Liabilities and Supervision of Foreign Exchange Dealings and Treasury Departments. In October 1995, Mr. Jones joined Wema Bank Plc as Deputy General Manager. In 1997, he became the General Manager, Corporate Banking Group and became the Executive Director, Credit and Relationship Management of the Bank in 1998. In December 2000, Mr. David Jones was appointed the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Wema Bank Plc., a position he held till his appointment as Director of Foreign Operation (CBN) in January, 2004. Mr. David Jones has attended various courses both at home and abroad and has served on the Boards of various institutions. He is a member of the Ikoyi Club 1938, Ikeja Golf Club, Metropolitan Club, University of Nigeria, Nsukka Alumni Association, and a Pastor of the Four Square Gospel Church
