Mr. Oliver has few regrets in his life, but one of the most wounding is the fact he couldnt convince the studio to let him cast ELAINE STRITCH in his Beethoven movie last year. Shed read the script and called Mr. Oliver to say she loved it and would love to play the role; it was a phone call he will never forget. RIP to a great broad, as another piece of our show business history takes a final bow.
