Mr President, you can intimidate the unarmed and innocent with bullets and knives but that does not make you strong or great. You only strengthen our resolve to stand and protect and empower them and to fight for their rights and their freedom, to rid this country of injustice, corruption, plunder, wastage and violence. We deeply and sincerely appreciate your contribution for ending the war, along with (General)Sarath Fonseka, the 300,00 strong armed force, 26,000 who sacrificed their lives, the thousands more who lost limbs, those who were tortured, were blinded, are now permanently disabled. They deserve their share of recognition and gratitude too. They should benefit from the peace dividend as much as your children and cronies are. You tax the food of the poor, their fuel, the milk they feed their children with and curtail expenditure on education which is in effect their future prosperity, The war has ended but the scourge of terrorism has not. Hatred is being instigated between races living in this country for political survival and greed when its the time to foster unity and peace. You have the qualities which makes you an excellent president during a war. The war has ended. You did your part. We need to progress. We need to look at achieving a peaceful, prosperous and fair society in Sri Lanka for all, not just for the few. The country gravely needs a leader who espouse such virtues.
