Mrs. Larson C R A C K E D today when one student got into it with another student about a stolen quarter. (My class has been stuck on the tattle tale train for the past few weeks - but today I might have officially lost my mind!) In the midst of chaos, I threw my hands up in the air and said, Thats it, its time to settle this once and for all - in COURT. They all looked at me as though had just shown them a $7.00 bill - perplexed but excited. My teacher aide, Ms. Devina Moores eyes lit up and she actually SKIPPED HER BREAK to be a part of the trial! Anyway - we set the classroom up like a court room, appointed a judge, a courtroom clerk, a bailiff, a jury, lawyers, etc. We even found an insect book for them to swear/take oath on! After testimonies, examinations, cross-examinations, etc. the jury had finally, unanimously agreed upon a final verdict - they found the defendant NOT GUILTY. I cant even begin to tell you how adorable and HILARIOUS this was - one of our lawyers went missing for a while and we had to wait to start the trial because he was going #2. The other lawyer was hanging upside down off of his chair most of the time, one of the jurors had tampered with the evidence....O. M. G. One of the funnest teaching moments Ive ever had! :) Ms. Devina Moore was our courtroom reporter and video taped most of the opening statements - so stinkin cute!!!!
