Muaupoko is gearing up for the next stage in its development and in order to do that we are looking for a standout person who wants to be part of shaping that future. If you have a passion for our constituent hapu of Ngati Hine, Ngati Pariri, Ngati Whanokirangi, Ngai Te Ao, Ngati Tamarangi, Ngaue and Punahau, we want to hear from you. Vibrant and engaged hapu underpin Iwi success so as the hapu Co-Ordinator you will be responsible for spearheading a programme to assist our hapu to successfully engage at Iwi level. Main Activities The main tasks of the Hapu Development Co-Ordinator • Work with Muaupoko Hapu to support and develop Hapu structures that encourage Muaupoko whanau to participate in Muaupoko iwi affairs • Organise and Facilitate Hapu Hui • Actively encourage whanau and hapu members to register with the Muaupoko Tribal Authority • Facilitate and support Muaupoko Tribal Authority whakapapa committees to verify Muaupoko Whakapapa • Support and assist Muaupoko Communications strategy and key messages to Whanau and Hapu. • Support and facilitate whanau and hapu feedback to the Muaupoko Tribal Authority regarding programmes and projects • Identify development opportunities to help hapu reach their future potential Key selection criteria • Provide exemplary customer service • Be an effective communicator • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills • Full clean drivers licence • Understanding of Treaty of Waitangi principles • Good Understanding of Muaupokotanga Desirable experience, skills and qualities • Understanding of Maori issues, iwi structures and kaupapa tuku iho, inherited values • Experience working with an iwi/Maori organisation • Te Reo Maori • Tolerance for ambiguity Please send CV and Covering Letter to Candyce Taylor at the Muaupoko Tribal Authority Office.
