Mum question:My Lo was a difficult sleeper from the beginning - TopicsExpress

Mum question:My Lo was a difficult sleeper from the beginning suffering with colic till around 7 months which we put his difficulty in sleeping down to ( both day and night).. He also bf a lot through the night till around 12 months when I gave in and went to sleep school due to my exhaustion.. From his first night there he slept through which was a relief as I didnt have to do hardcore settling.. His overall routine and sleeping pattern improved dramatically and I finally weaned at 14 months.. So sleeping well from 14 months up until around a month ago at 26 months .. Now sleeps later in the day, or sometimes not at all unless we get in the car where he doesnt fight his nap .. The day sleep doesnt bother me so much except he now not only fights bedtime from 7.30 till about 8.30-9 but also wakes most nights around 1 am and struggles to get to sleep till around 4 am.. He is wide awake and after many lullabies Im his bed of trying to relax him in our bed to no avail I am now absolutely exhausted again and hubby also struggling which is not great when he has to go to work.. Our time out sessions in the evening are now also non existent and this was also our time to catch up together on family business .. Too many areas now affected and we have no idea what we are doing wrong or what our poor little one is going through to be fighting sleep so much .. Ps we also have the issue of not being able to leave him to cry a little in cot as he gets out within 10 mins of us leaving room and his once feeding to sleep trick is also no longer working... He will also not chill out in our bed but instead thinks its play time with mum and dad.. What do we do and do I need to seek a doctors opinion?
