Music is powerful. Music is life. Its funny how you can hear a memory from music. Just one simple piece of music, only a few minutes long can burst open a hidden corner of your mind and unleash a picture perfect serial of events as if you are living it out all over again. The Foo Fighters have an uncanny ability to do that to me. This track isnt ripping apart the inner recesses of my mind as its new but it does almost seem fitting as a coda to their back catalogue. Its got traces of their entire musical history. I feel like Im there in 2000 with my friends, being transformed from my old life into a new, rock-orientated existence. I can remember being at their gig in the Barrowlands. I can remember listen on a CD walkman on the old X2 Stagecoach bus as it plows through the snowdrifts at Christmas down Blairbeth Road. I remember making Microsoft Michelle speak the lyrics as the café was closing. I remember it all and I cant wait to remember the rest in the future.
