Must read- those who care for a new world is coming to life! "The resistance movement for democracy and freedom that started in Gezi Park in Istanbul shape-shifted in its evolution to its next level. After the police raided the park and pushed the people out, as of June 19, 2013, there are 34 "neighborhood forums" that gather in local parks all around Istanbul. Forums in Ankara and Izmir are in formation. I have been to one of these forums last night and I was so surprised! I can tell you that Gezi experience has already shifted BOULDERS in our culture: There were hundreds of people sitting in circle, expressing themselves, sharing their ideas, offering solutions in a respectful manner. Yes, people are angry about the violence and bullying we experienced yet there was no swearing, no bad-mouthing, not even complaining! There were only questions about how to move forward in a constructive way, ideas and suggestions on how to grow these forums, how to better organize, how to keep the communication to flow. In addition, people were keen on using a unitarian, inclusive language that does not exclude or insult anyone as well as making this movement as inclusive as possible. This is PEOPLE POWER.
