My 99 TJ 4cyl 5spd threw a code for the o2 sensor picking up my jeep running lean. Cleared the code and ran fine for a couple days. Started again today and tripped the code a second time. It bucks in 4th and 5th gear when you try to accelerate or climb a hill and is burning fuel like a fiend. Idles fine and has normal gitty up in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Did a tuneup and to no avail has the problem corrected. Has a definite lean smell from the exhaust when it acts up. Any ideas? Bad sensor or underlying problem?
