People I cyphered with back then would always try to put me on to some independent hip hop and was a little hesitant to check anything out that wasnt my norm, (Nas, Pun, Mobb Depp, Wu, Jay, etc). After listening I though to my self, where has this type of shit been? but it was me not noticing it, I guess. I remember gripping a copy from DJ Akshun in like 06. I was bumpin this song in my car on 12th and Tasker and some dude starts yelling at me, I had no idea what he was saying but he seemed aggressive, so I turned it down and said What you yappin about buddy? (It was Scott Stallone who mixed and engineered the record). He enthusiastically says That song youre listening to, I mixed that record. Anyway, Army of The Pharaohs will be at Union Transfer in Philly January 31st (also my Mothers Birthday). Before you complain about the state of Hip hop or music, make sure youre not ignoring some of the most potent shit out there.
