My Father, Steve E. Keene was in the 25th Infantry and served in - TopicsExpress

My Father, Steve E. Keene was in the 25th Infantry and served in Vietnam in 1969 where he was later wounded several times during an ambush. He spent 14 months in Walter Reed Army Hospital where he rehabbed, but was listed as totally disabled. For injuries and bravery, he was awarded two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star, among many others. He refused to be disabled and worked over 25 years as a coal miner and as a farmer. My Dad still has the blood soaked Bible he had when he was shot and still today we never hear him complain about anything. We are very thankful his life was spared and that we were able to learn from his bravery, courage and perseverance. He is our Hero. We are all guilty of complaining and not being thankful enough for our family, health, jobs and freedom. Thank you Veterans!
