My Rant (Your Future is becoming a Mirage) Your God-given - TopicsExpress

My Rant (Your Future is becoming a Mirage) Your God-given talents have opened doors and paved the way for an incredible future. Your hard work has brought you to a point of embarkation. All systems are GO. In order to actually make this “future” happen, you have to walk on the very precisely defined steps laid out for you. Deviation from the path will cause the “future” to potentially become a mirage. Stepping completely off the path will definitely cause the mirage to fade away (POOF!) into a distant memory, never to be realized. The path includes adherence to specified rules, regulations, laws, and expectations. Some of these may not seem fair or logical, some may seem silly or stupid. The fact remains, they exist and you must abide by them whether you agree with them or not. Abiding by them not only protects you, but also has ripple effects on many around you. I used to ask my kids this question…”What happens when you disobey?” The answer is…”something bad”. Now, that bad thing might be a punishment, a consequence you have to suffer. That bad thing might be an injury to yourself. That bad thing might be an injury to another. The fact is – when you disobey, something bad inevitably happens. Philip Lutzenkirchen – Don’t drink and drive or ride with those who do. If you are going to make that bad choice, at least wear your seat belt. Miss you much. Jonathan Mincy and Nick Marshall – Your dream of potential NFL success may actually be fading away. Your dream of a Heisman trophy, a National Championship…severely compromised if not in fact, gone. And to top it all off, look around at the Auburn faithful who have placed all their trust, hope and dreams in YOU. Everything was poised for perfection. All the necessary components for success in position thanks to the incredible time, effort and hard work of Coaches, Administration and other players. Your choice to live for the moment and take your eyes off the future hurts so much more than just you. It hurts all of us associated with Auburn. It embarrasses us because we hold to a higher standard. We have a Creed. It means something to be an “Auburn Man,” or it should. I am interested to know what the actual wording is of the “zero-tolerance” standard is at Auburn. I don’t know if there is any way that Nick can play if there is no verbiage which allows for movement. Something must be imposed on Jonathan and on Nick. What that is I do not know, but I believe Jeremy and JWa need to start focusing on the playbook and working with receivers. At least we can remember last year. --
