My TBT, is a short story. Aug, 1979. There were a group of brothers from "The Side" goes by the name "Sun". They were stylin in their Yellow sweat suits and black shirts. Funk on the Greene was the occasion, Oakland Coliseum was the vinue, Parliament/Funkadelic, Bootsy and his Rubberband, Barkays, Brides of Funkenstin, Con Funk Shun and more. The infield of the Coliseum was full of parting people. All of a sudden, from the middle of the crowd someone yelled fight or gun and the masses started to scatter. It was like throwing a rock in the water, the ripple move in all directions at once. The group called Sun was near the back of the crowd when the wave started to move. They started running towards the baseball diamand which was blocked of by barriers, that did not stop this group of athletic men. Each man jumped to hurdle the barriers like Edwin Mosses, one after the other. There was one, whos jump was not as gracesful as the others. His leg hit the barrier and down he went to the ground. Without hesitation the fallen warrior, jumped to his feet before the stampeding crowd could trample him. His group of brothers came back to his aid, once all the confusion and the concert was over you could still hear them laughing their butts off as they rode of into the sunset to continue the party in downtown Oak-Town that night. Marv, I love you man and will never forget that day. "Sun rides again"
