My absentee ballot arrived today. This is likely the last general - TopicsExpress

My absentee ballot arrived today. This is likely the last general election I vote in in North Dakota, as I am called to pastor elsewhere, and will be ordained and living there in two years time. Proud to vote in this important election. How I voted (and I encourage you to, as well ;) :) ) What I view as the most important issues are first. (Though the Measures are in numerical order, not bothering writing the uncontested races) United States Congress: Robert J. Jack Seaman (Libertarian Party) Measure 1 (Right to Life): YES Measure 2 (Prohibition of Transfer Taxes): YES Measure 3 (Abolish the the current structure of the State Board of Higher Education): YES Measure 4 (Require fiscal initiatives to be voted on specifically in November): NO Measure 5 (Conservation Fund): NO Measure 6 (Equal Parenting): YES Measure 7 (Repeals the States Pharmacy Ownership Law): YES Measure 8 (Require schools to start after Labor Day): NO Tax Commissioner: Anthony Mangnall (Libertarian Party) Secretary of State: Roland Riemers (Libertarian Party) Attorney General: Wayne Stenehjem (Republican) Agriculture Commissioner: Doug Goehring (Republican) Public Servioce Commissioner (full-term): Brian P Kalk (Republican) Public Service Commissioner (special): Julie Fedorchak (Republican) County Commission: Jerry Saude (and only Jerry Saude, if you want him to win, leave your other two votes unused) Bismarck City Commission: Richard Bohrer North Dakota Supreme Court Justice: Sonna Anderson (Write in) Chief Justice VandeWalle will be 91-years-old when this next 10-year term is up. Its time for someone different. :) I think Mr. Saude would agree with my choice. Happy 125th Statehood Day on November 2nd, North Dakota! :D
