My annual battle with Comcast about my internet/tv bill results in another win - huge monthly savings. Over the years, Ive learned to start these conversations with Id like to cancel my service. That way, you are connected directly to a retention specialist who actually has the ability to invoke reason to save a long-term and profitable customer. Its a good thing for their company that they have the only acceptable internet connectivity solution in my area...their customer service is hands down the worst Ive ever experienced. This call started with them saying to keep your service at the current level, youll need to sign a two-year agreement at an additional $20/month. After my threat of cancellation, it ultimately resulted in savings of over $80/month with only a minor change to programming. It takes a lot to send me into a rant...Comcast somehow manages to do it every time I must interact with their customer service folks. In other news, Apple charges exorbitant prices and I happily pay them because they offer great products AND their customer service is amazing. I am beginning to wish/hope that Apple uses its untold fortunes of cash reserves to get into the provider arena.
