My beautiful neice. What a fighter. And shes so blessed to have such amazing parents. Im so proud of my brother and his wife. They are experiencing something that no parent ever wants to even think about. They have approached this struggle with such positive attitudes. I am in awe and admiration of their strength and determination. We can never have too many prayers for baby Presley so here is what they have shared about the situation. We were hesitant to post this on Facebook but it is painful to have to keep reliving what has happened in an effort to inform everyone. On Sunday Presley was admitted to the NICU after having a seizure. Many test were done and it was determined that at some point either in the days leading up to her birth or shortly after birth she suffered from oxygen deprivation and this was the cause of the seizures. The doctors cannot tell us when or how it happened. There is a lot that is still unknown about her condition. An MRI showed significant damage to her brain. The doctors are unable to give us a clear picture as to what her recovery will look like. We will know more with each developmental milestone in the years to come, but we are seeing many positive signs. The latest EEG showed no more seizure activity and it looked more positive than the last one! P is off all oxygen and breathing on her own, she has been eating from a bottle with no issues since Wednesday. Both the occupational and physical therapists said they didnt see anything that they were terribly concerned about. Both of her eye exams were good! She has been increasingly more alert and opening her eyes. We even got a smile out of her yesterday!!!! We are so thankful for all of the love and support from our friends and family during this time. We will do our best to keep everyone updated on her progress.
