My call to Navy Medical Center San Diego: Me: I need to schedule an appointment with Addisons Primary Care Manager (PCM) for a well-child check, referrals for medical equipment, and G-tube feeding paperwork for school. HM2: The first appointment we have available is September 29. Me: Um....thats like 7 weeks from now. Can I schedule with another member of her care team as you call it? HM2: No. Thats only available for acute care. Me: Is there anything I can do to be seen sooner? Or a waiting list? HM2: (Laughs maniacally) Yeah, no. THIS is adequate care right here. 46 day wait just to see a PCM. Not a specialist. Just a fresh-out-of-med-school PCM.
