My church sign calendar today says: Easter is more than something - TopicsExpress

My church sign calendar today says: Easter is more than something to dye for. This reminds me of the buttons we had printed up this year for our church members: Easter, it is about Jesus, not the bunny. We live in an age where no one wants to possibly offend or isolate someone else. So we have gone to great lengths to strip God from our schools and basically inserted a curriculum that supports the idea there is no God. To take this even further most companies choose to be neutral on the subject maybe to avoid confrontation, or because they are non-believers themselves, or they just want to enjoy the sales revenue. By making the holiday secular then everyone can take part and marketing of secular items & ideas such as coloring eggs, the bunny, Santa Claus, reindeer, etc. all bring in tons of money. What they do not realize is once the true meaning of Christmas or Easter are lost then so are the messages of hope for an eternity with God in Heaven, the enduring love that God has for each one of us no matter what life brings our way, no guidebook of life that directs us in the ways that will keep us safe and yet allow us to experience the true happiness that God intended. From the purely logical perspective the further we move from God the further society slips into darkness. The crime & violence in the neighborhoods are driving businesses further & further out of the cities causing internet sales from the safety of your home to boom. However, so is cyber crime, to a point where none of our personal information is really safe anymore. So how is the elimination of God from our lives and from the marketing programs of the stores really benefiting all of us or their bottom line? Taking the P.A.C.K. challenge can go a long ways in addressing a number of the concerns mentioned above. Doing Planned Acts of Christian Kindness (P.A.C.K.) gets Christians out into their neighborhoods and allows them to love on people like Jesus did. To share the message of the love and hope God has for them. To allow the Holy Spirit a chance to change hearts and lives to the glory of God. Provides a way for Christians to work together with area businesses on P.A.C.K. events so they can see firsthand how lives are impacted and communities are changed through the power of God.
