My dear friends, this is the big one. Hopefully one of many. Our son George has been playing violin for little over 3 years thanks to an amazing local teacher, Jean Grieve. She has been helping young people for over 40 years as a founder of the Oakville Suzuki Association, providing not only lessons but instruments as well. She recently recruited a local organisation that is helping kids to go to Art and Music camps in the summer and pay for their lessons. Mr. Don Pangman, founder and Artistic Director of ArtHouse, after hearing George play, was able to arrange a new violin to be bought especially for George and also for his lessons with a new, more advanced teacher to be covered. This is a tremendous thing - people that weve never met until 3 years ago, have taken our son under their wing and have created this life changing opportunity for him. This coincided with George composing his first piece for violin and yesterday evening he was invited to premiere it at the Annual Christmas party of United Way of Oakville - a big charity organisation that supports local communities on arts, health, childcare and wellness. So, with me at the piano, George performed a few pieces for them, one of which was Life a Dwarf - world premiere :-)))) It is THAT time in life, folks, when you start being really proud of your kids. Doubly so in my case because I am very lucky to be able to share the stage with my amazing son. Love you, George!
