My envisioned project is the telling of stories of five Afro-Cuban - TopicsExpress

My envisioned project is the telling of stories of five Afro-Cuban immigrants who came to the United States via five different ways to fulfill their dreams. Each story will be told in the original cultural language of each subject and reflected in a dance painting with film documentation. The completed project will produce 5 large dance paintings and a documentary film of approximately 25-30 minutes. The paintings will be publicly exhibited as well as the documentary film upon completion of the project. We are requesting your financial support in order to support this untold creation. Funds are needed for professional studios, lighting, crews, transportation, and other equipment. The contributors to this project will receive a print copy of one of the paintings of their choice, VIP access to the film exhibition, and personal time to meet the artists and cast members. My personal desire for this project stems for the need to add my distinct voice to the visual arts community. I have lived for many years in the United States and professionally taught music and dance. In addition to teaching, I have been engaged in telling my personal story through music, dance and painting. I believe that my next natural progression is film where these creative mediums can be combined into one powerful expression. This project is supported and has received collaboration from many talented local or national artists and associates. These collaborators, like me, are strongly committed to the arts as an avenue to express one’s voice, need or internal beauty. With the dedication and support, such as yourself and our collaborators, I strongly believe we can create a unique experience. I thank you for your time and consideration, Silfredo La O Vigo
