My father died at 57 after working all those years before that .He had cancer n got his 1st social security check shortly after he died which had to be returned.My mother received a letter a few years later that said she could draw off dads so we got her signed up n she drew for awhile n then she got a letter saying she wasnt entitled to it and they wanted the money back.To make along story short they didnt get it cuz she had every letter they sent her and so she didnt have to pay it back.But she worked different jobs before the federal government job paying into ss.My question is why cant she draw off hers n they say she cant cuz she was a federal employee.Where did all her money go?????
