My father died twenty-four years ago yesterday. When people ask me about my parents, I sidestep the question and tell them about my mom. Not because Im ashamed, but because its easier. But twenty-four years later, I give you a glimpse of my father and what I remember that makes me smile. And I can tell you this: its very strange what memories will stick with you over time. There will be ones you think youll never forget, but do anyway. Then there will be others so trivial you cant believe the details are still there; the memories your stubborn brain cells cling to like mad.
