My first FB rant.... Can someone explain this to me....? We shipped a package to Nurnberg, Germany with the correct address through the United States Postal Service (USPS) for $90.00 and insure it for $320.00 and shipped it priority 7/3/2013. It was supposed to arrive in a week or so. 7/16/2013 the tracking showed the address could not be found and it was returned to sender. We stop by the Bexley Post Office where it was sent and they say they can’t track it once it leaves the country! Really????? Call customer service from a number online and they tell me someone sent it to Frankfurt, Germany when they typed it in, and then they say they can’t reroute it. It has to be returned and then I have to deal with the local post office. It came this week and I picked it up at the Bexley Post Office. The clerk could not help me so I asked for a manager; she could not help me either and said I had to wait until another clerk came in. When asked how long she was a manager I was told 14 years…… Wow that’s a lot of time not to know anything and be in management. What she did confirm was that the USPS is not at all responsible for anything they mail for you after it leaves the US…..Did anyone else know this? They can’t track it nor will they take any responsibility for it, they just take the money...what a brilliant evil plan to extort money from unsuspecting citizens. They do not tell you any of this when you are mailing or shipping out of the US. After then speaking to a clerk I was told that I would not receive a refund for the $90.00 because they could not find the valid address…….So if I create a company where I take money to ship items for folks and then I don’t deliver them, I can just take their money without it being illegal… I think not. I have to admit I was a bit frustrated at this point and might have mentioned that I could not see the USPS staying open much longer with this mindset and was told “I’ve worked here 35 years and that’s what everyone says, but it won’t happen, this is just the way it is, you’re not getting your money back”. To translate: Screw you lady, you can’t touch me or the USPS, we can take your money for services we did not do and you can’t do a darn thing about it so HA! Very Sad
