My gang and I went to see the Misfits the other night. The show was a lot of fun, those dudes still look cool up there in their crazy outfits with the stage all decked out for Halloween. At one point in the show this kid hopped the barricade and jumped onto the stage. Jerry Only, who is now the lead singer, got a huge smile on his face and went to give the kid a high five, but the dude didnt see and just stage dove right away. Immediately the kid was stormed upon by four or five bouncers. Jerry calmly stopped the song, and in a very cool voice said, Hey, gentlemen, gentlemen..., the bouncers relented, then he directed his words to the kid, are you alright, man? Once assured the kid was fine he snapped his fingers like the Fonz or something and the band jumped right back into the song, right where they left off, with out a count in or anything. The place went absolutely nuts cheering for Jerrys compassionate and total boss-like display and the energy of the show was raised so much after that point. They opened and closed with Halloween...played right up to midnight, October 31st exactly, Jerry Only was the first person to wish all of us in the audience a Happy Halloween...pretty badass...it was a very classy affair. Afterward Jerry Only stuck around, with out even leaving the stage to get a drink of water first, and signed autographs for everyone in there, and handed out little trinkets from off of his gnarly ensemble. Jerry Only is a major dude. And The Misfits will rule forever.
