My heart is heavy. My beloved Uncle Steve passed away in his sleep last night. He has been such a big part of my life forever. They lived four blocks away from me. I remember Poker Nights at my house. Parties at both houses. Katella Deli for lunch. A constant presence at my performances. Watching The Crlenica Brothers perform. Listening to him speak about his music. Watching his face light up with pride when he spoke about his grandkids. His great smile. His love of family. His patience. His love of Casinos!! He was just Uncle Steve, always there. He was blessed to live almost 98 years. He was in a famous Taburitza Orchestra (Yugoslavian music), he scored motion pictures, worked for Disney, sold sunglasses and worked hard at anything he choose to do. I was very lucky to have him as an Uncle. Memory Eternal.
