My heart is my microphone, so please, bear with me. Its always a cliche to say that the New Year can bring about new beginnings. Thats fairly accurate, but lets do more than just start new beginnings. Lets upgrade. If you are within the sight of my font, I offer these thoughts, these tasks, these labors of love to you. Quite simply, do more. Be better. Love more. Love better. Listen more. Judge less. Forgive more. Hold fewer grudges. Reach out more and guard yourself less. Take everything that is you and that makes you good, and work on it until its better. If youre already a good parent, be a better parent. If youre already a good spouse/partner, work on being a better one. Dont let contentment lead to complacency. It seems the older I get, the faster the time and the years go by. My loved ones continue to age, and God is taking a roll call, asking them to come home. So as my time with them grows shorter, I need to appreciate their time more. I also look forward to cultivating new friendships and strengthening the ones I already have. Im not gonna be better overnight. None of us are. But each week, Ill work on being better. Doing better. After all, the journey of 1000 miles starts with the first step. If you are within the sight of this font, remember, you have God given value. He didnt make a mistake when He created you. He loves you. Hes blessed you. He wants you to be happy. And I know He wants us all to be better and to do better within ourselves and amongst ourselves. So lets all step up and start being the people He created us to be. Make 2015 a better year than 2014 was, and then make 2016 even better than that. Put your life on an upswing, and ride that positive momentum into each new year. But whatever you do, really be honest with yourself. Dont make hasty and quick decisions and promises (resolutions). Move forward when your heart, mind, and spirit are truly ready. And most importantly, dont just do you. Love you. Know your worth. Walk it. But dont say a single word about it. Your actions will shout it from the mountaintops. God bless you all. I love you. Happier 2015.
