My heart is so full, its about to burst. While at the store, I ran into a former student from PVES. This child was in my Life Skills class and later into resource classes. He went to SMS when I did. But when I left SMS, I of course lost track of him. His parents and I worked so hard with him when he was young. He is now 18 years old, a Senior on track to graduate this year (I HAVE to be there), and going on to art school. He showed me some of his pics on his phone that he drew and they are superb! I am so proud to see him grow into such a sweet, talented young man. I just hugged him and his sweet mama. Cheatham County Schools, along with his family, have done a great job with him and has nurtured him both academically and socially and helped him grow in his natural talent for art. His is a real success story, not just for him or for his family, but also for our schools. I just cried tears of joy as I was leaving the store. Like I said, my heart is full!
