My husband, Fred, is attending the annual Southwest Association of Turners, in Waco, Texas. He really enjoys meeting up with people from all over the U.S., talking to vendors, buying chunks of wood and burls and seeing new techniques. And you cant believe the variety in hundreds of wood-turned creations! Truly, an art gallery! While he attends demonstrations and classes, I attend the spouse activities and classes. I attended a class on Zentangle (took it last year, too) and really enjoyed it. I felt even more creative than last year; as one lady expertly said - youre in a different place this year. YES, Ive definitely become more fearless in trying new crafts! I purchased a book on using it with jewelry, so wait and see - I may have new creations soon! This year, Im also teaching the Peat Pot Gift and Card Class two days - yesterdays class was a hoot as we used Mod Podge, Staz-on Ink and lots of Stampin Up! materials and regular ink pads. They also got a chance to use the Envelope Punch Board, a variety of punches and the Big Shot Die Cut machine. Needless to say, the ladies had fun getting their hands messy and cranking out their die cut labels - a very hands-on class! And I always like to see how they change up their cards versus the sample I share. :-) Heres my Zentangle tile and all of those from class, plus the Peat Pot set. Hoping to learn more crafts and see more samples today (quilts, scrapbooks, jewelry, etc.)! Ill be posting lots of pictures tonight of todays fun!
