My husband and I took a ride down the shore today to our favorite shore town, Long Branch. It has lots of stores and restaurants and a nice promenade. They dont call it a boardwalk because its made of cement, not boards. We sat down on a bench and I looked out over the hundreds of sunbathers on the beach. It was a cloudy day and the ocean looked very gray. My eyes wandered to the horizon where the sea meets the sky and all of a sudden my imagination kicked in. I could see three hands waving at me from far beyond the horizon. They were the hands of three young Italian men, sitting on the shore of Italy gazing out towards the United States. Then it was time to go. As I stood up I waved my fingers towards the ocean. I saw them wave...a wonder if they saw me? Imagination is a wonderful thing when it kicks in unexpectantly.
