My last full day at the cabin in Big Bear. Another 5000 word day. - TopicsExpress

My last full day at the cabin in Big Bear. Another 5000 word day. More if I can do it because tomorrow, I have to drive home (almost two hours) and I also am working in my office in the evening (so driving to West LA and back, plus seeing psychotherapy clients.) So I wont have a lot of time to wrap things up--maybe 2000-3000k worth. This story is going long, which I suspected it would. Ive had it in my mind for several years, and although its a romance, its really about Joshua Norton and his recovery from emotional and spiritual burnout. Ive had some scenes in my mind for a long time, which are a detour away from the romance. Yesterday, the lead in scenes to this section came so clear, I typed away. The best flowing writing on this whole book. The problem is the detour is bigger than I expected....Is it too much? Have I done it well enough. But then again, my readers know my books arent the typical romances. Right readers? Then I had to think of what was going on with the heroine this whole time and come up with a scene in her point of view that also wasnt originally intended. Oh, and did I tell you my deadlines tomorrow? The contract only says April 1. So I think sending it off right before midnight counts. :) Ill warn my Montlake editor, though. :) Luckily, Louella Nelson Author, my developmental editor and I have a month to work on the edits. Plenty of time to dig away at the story and then polish it up. Wish me inspiration, motivation, and flying fingers, my friends!
