My mom ALREADY thinks that I am CRAZY. Well, this goes against - TopicsExpress

My mom ALREADY thinks that I am CRAZY. Well, this goes against everything shes ever preached..... Recently I got in the cage with some GROWN ASS TIGERS.... for the second time in my life. The first time I lasted probably 2-3 minutes and my heart rate was beating faster than first time my mom caught me.... well, that is different story for a different day. Second time around I spent hours in the cage with the tigers. There were too many questions I needed answers too. I wanted to know why humans could get in the cage with tigers and not get eaten. I wanted to know why they slept as much regular house cats. I wanted to know if they were drugged. I wanted to know how the tigers were raised, and I needed to know what happened to tigers when they got too big. Thanks to an awesome friend Jessica who previously worked there. We were able to get an in depth behind scenes tour of Tiger Kingdom in Chiang Mai. We started with the baby tigers and found that they were actually born at the park. All these tigers have ever known is human care and interaction. They are fed by humans from the time they are born until the time they pass on. For the first month they are in nursery. Then they are put into cub sanctuary to play with other cubs and tourists. YES they begin to sleep a lot. They dont sleep as much as older tigers. There are definitely people who THINK they know everything “Oh the babies are drugged look at them sleeping all the time”. I guess they have never seen human baby sleep. Then we they are not sleeping they are just playing and goofing around. Then have medium sized tigers “1 year old “ and also grown female tigers “3 years old. For sake of time I will jump to BIG MALE TIGERS, 2-3 years old... They have been in Tiger Kingdom since they were born. I just want to say this real quick. THAILAND IS HOT!!! My dog growing up would jump around like crazy when you gave her energy. Come summer time after a little playing and food, my dog would be just lay around not doing a damn thing. When I went to Hawaii for first time in 2010 I saw dogs not even flinch when I walked by them. Tigers, who since birth have been taking pictures with humans are not very excited by their typical routine. They are excited to play pretty much at all times. These “know it alls” who have never even spent time with tigers or 10 mins in the cage thinking they are experts just make me laugh with their assumptions. In short they are big house cats and for people who say they should be released in the wild. SMH they would not make it 3 days. I have seen many animal activities in Thailand that I could not even recommend. I seen animal cruelty to some elephants and monkeys. I can’t endorse that. The tigers I saw here were well taken care off. Is everyone going to agree? No, but do I care? Not really. This is one mans opinion. The bigger message I got from being with the tigers was YOUR ENVIRONMENT IS EVERYTHING. In life you become who hang out with. CHANGE YOUR ENVIRONMENT and it will force you change. People wonder why so many folks are so different when they coming back serving in the military. They had experienced an environment I can not even relate too. People wonder why its so much easier to stop smoking when you have no smokers around you anymore. I am not going to preach to the choir anymore but your environment is everything. One big thing I also got out this experience was learning more about fear. Will smith said it best: ““Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near insanity. Do not misunderstand me danger is very real but fear is a choice.” Hope you enjoy the video because I had a lot fun making it! WARNING if you see TIGERS in the WILD please understand they will eat your ass. youtube/watch?v=cLSigeW2FWc&feature=youtu.be
