My name is HoneyLyn. I was born in the Phillipines and now recide in the United States. This is a true account lived by my mother Berna Rivera. It was the month of December in the year 2000. Berna, my mother, had finally gotten her visa to come live in the United States with one of my sisters. At the Philippines she was told by Philippine officials that her X ray showed that she had tuberculosis. She was allowed to leave the country, which she was grateful for and did not question. Upon arrival at my sisters home, in the U.S., she was secluded to one room for fear of spreading the illness to the rest of the family. The one most concern with this was my brother-in-law for fear of his children catching the disease. Mom spent agonizing days secluded. She knew she had this terrible illness for she had been feeling very sick for years, but due to lack of funds had never received medical attention. My sister felt sorry for my mother and would allow mother to come out and get some sunshine when her husband was at work. She would also allow the children to see their grandmother. The poor children would come running to warn my mother whenever they would hear their father, my brother-in-law, driving home from work. They would run in a hurry saying, Quickly grandma!... run to your room, my dad is coming home! During this trialling and humbling time my mother started to get very close to God and Jesus. She would cry to the Lord and ask for forgiveness and healing praying constantly. After three days, an American officer came to the home, they had been notified that my mother had tuberculosis by the Philippine government. My mother was given a second set of X rays. After two weeks, she received a call notifying her that the X rays revealed that there was absolutely nothing wrong with her. My mothers started praising and thanking God for this amazing miracle. In her gratitude over the miracle in her life she has been very thankful and made even more aware of the sufferings of those unfortunates in her country who suffer from the lack of even the most essential things such as food, drinking water and clothing. My mother and I started donating food and clothing in the year 2002 at different places near her previous home in the Philipiness; Panabingan San Antonio, Nueva Ecija . Common Wealth Quezon City, Santa Cruz Zaragosa, Nueva Ecija, Maliwalo, Tarlac City. we donated and fed 60 kids also we gave to many motorcycle drivers that went by. On our last donation we were only able to make 400 care packages. It is so rewarding to see the faces of children light-up at the site of a little inexpensive toy, mothers there are so grateful over rice, noodles, coffee, sugar, soap, toothpaste, etc... things here in the United States most people take for granted. My mother also goes to a thrift store where she is able to fill a bag of used clothing for only $7. which she has become very expert in packing to get as much as possible for that small fee. She sends them clothing which is distributed to poor families. Used clothing here is readily found, people will also donate it for the poor, what makes it a little harder is the shipping fees to send it abroad. Mother has made it a point to use whatever money she can save or raise to send care packages to the poor people of her country. I have opened this website in order that we may be able to raise more donations from those kind souls that are interested in helping those fellow brethren who are less fortunate. We have been able to provide these donations from our savings only every two years. The needs are great, we would like to help even more. That is why I appeal to all those that read this, please find it in your heart to send whatever you can for those who have not. God will reward you and you will have the joy of knowing you made a difference in someones life. Matthew 25:35-40 (New International Version (NIV)) 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. 37 Then the righteous will answer him, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? 40 The King will reply, Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. God Bless you abundantly, HoneyLyn R. https://youtube/watch?v=P8Mt7nYFoe8&list=UUj6tGbK6e-m7gg_8-iedJvw&index=63https://youtube/watch?v=1Ve_cq9caBE&index=55&list=UUj6tGbK6e- m7gg_8-iedJvw
