My name now has a blue checkmark thingie next to it. I have been trying to think how to explain its significance to my mom since I know shes going to ask. Mom: Kevin, whats that blue checkmark mean? Me: I dont know. See? That wont cut the proverbial mustard, which I have always assumed is a rather thick brown spicy one with lots of seeds. Mom: Son, what does that blue checkmark mean? Me: It means my account is verified. Im really Kevin Hearne. Mom: Well, duh. Didnt they know that already, what with the NSA and all? Me: I assume so. Mom: So what does it *really* mean, Kevin? Me: I dont know. Mom: *sigh* Thats unacceptable. Youre grounded. Me: What? Heh! My mom wouldnt do that. Mom: Kevin, whats that blue checkmark mean? Me: Nothing really. It makes me look fancy and maybe even schmancy. Mom: Oh, thats great! Thats probably how it would go. But honestly, yall, Im not sure what to tell you about the blue checkmark.
