My newsfeed has been videos/stories of young black men being gunned down. Sure, maybe they robbed a store, or called a police officer a vulgar name, or showed a knife, a gun.. Im sure its so tough to be a police officer, but arent these the events that police are trained for?? Police are here to protect our communities. Black, white & yellow. People dont feel safe. You can say if they didnt act like thugs this wouldnt happen. The white person doesnt feel safe from the black man who might retaliate and the black man doesnt feel safe in a system that is intended to serve & protect. Whatever happened to shooting someones arms? legs? Whatever happened to tasering??? These kids are punks, but they dont deserve to be murdered. By a white cop or a black cop. Two things I wouldnt want to be- a cop or a doctor. Two professions where they have to make decisions that will live with them forever. Maybe better training is the answer? If my kid ended up robbing a store & trying to wrestle with a cop, I would hope that a police officer is trained well-enough to take my kid down & bring him to jail. Someone like me would be quick to shoot someone who threatened my life, police shouldnt be quick to shoot: we live in a world that is more dangerous that it was 10 years ago. Police need better training to prevent from just shooting and killing. Whether they were justified & their life was in danger, Im sure theres alternatives. Ive heard people say, when u think someone is about to kill you, you react. Youre right. I would. But, Im not a police officer, Im not trained for that. Police officers want to be held at a higher standard. Ok, but dont act like a civilian when scared. Shoot their arm, their leg, taser them until theyre drooling. Its just so sad! All these videos. And for those little punks running the streets, challenging cops? Something has got to be done. Parents need to be held accountable. So many funds/grants out there, give some to these communities to educate these troubled communities! This country is a mess as beautiful as it is. Good job for reading my rant.
