My niece took Mom to get groceries in Defiance. I just called to - TopicsExpress

My niece took Mom to get groceries in Defiance. I just called to check on them as its tough for her to get out much with those darn knees. I was told she had an episode. With a leap in my chest, I said, what happened? Jess said she cried all the way home. Oh no! I thought. Then she proceeded to tell me that it was a good cry. As she drove through the checkout on the scooter, which her pride HATES to operate, Jess found her crying with her items. Theyd been separated & our 1st thoughts are usually shes having trouble with something. She told Jessie that the man in front of her shouted, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year & waved back to her. When she swiped her debit card (shes still learning that one, as 85 yr. olds growing up depressions era, are used to only cash), she couldnt figure out why it wasnt working. The cashier told her that man in front of her paid for her entire tab which came to $59+ Whoever this secret Santa was, GOD BLESS YOU!! You cldnt have picked a more giving woman who I have witnessed many times in my life giving her last $20 to someone who really needed it more than her. This woman knows the value of a $1.00 and spends very wisely. She can make 20 different meals on flour, milk, & bacon grease because shes HAD to. YES, Virginia, there IS a Santa Claus. And I love him! Hugs orange-shirt guy! You restored my mothers faith in the value of giving. It overwhelmed her to be on the receiving end from a complete stranger.
