My phone rings, it’s an unknown number but I pick it anyway… Caller: Hello, is that Ibinabo O.? Me: Yes, this is she Caller: I am calling from the Presidency, you have been nominated for the position of Minister of the federal republic of Nigeria, your portfolio will be announced shortly, pls report to the SGF’s office immediately for your paperwork and swearing in Me: OMG! Are you serious? I’m on my way! I excitedly get dressed and start speeding towards the Presidency, along the way I load 3,000 naira credit and call every single friend and family I have… Me: *on the phone* God has done it for me oooo, I am now a Minister! Friends / family: *shrieks of joy* Praise God! He has answered our prayers Me: *talking to myself* ‘our prayers’? huh?!? Anyway...I get to the Presidency, finish all paperwork, get sworn in by Mr. President himself. After which he instructs the SGF to immediately pay me my 20million naira commencement allowance and asks me to check into my Ministerial suite at the Hilton which will be my temporary accommodation until my Ministerial lodge is ready. After all the stress and excitement of the day I finally get into my suite and lock my 20million naira into the hotel safe. I decide to have a hot shower to ease the stress. As I turn the hot water faucet expecting hot soothing water to flow out, I jump and scream at the ice cold water that sprays onto my face instead, that’s when I woke up from my dream and realize that the strong winds are blowing the rain through my bedroom window that I left opened when NEPA took light d previous night. At that very moment, a mosquito bites me viciously on my cheek i was forced to slap myself… Back to life…back to reality *sigh*
