My sis-in-law Evelyn and I spent the day in Mt. Vernon with my niece Karen Thompson Smith today. Karen made the best lunch I have had in a long time, baked squash, crowder peas, devil eggs, slices tomatoes, corn bread, sliced watermelon, and pecan pie! I ate until I could hardly move.
