My sister Gina and I were looking up our ancestor, Robert Morris, - TopicsExpress

My sister Gina and I were looking up our ancestor, Robert Morris, that signed the declaration of independence in the 1700s. He was a Christian man that stopped the slavery trade for good in Philadelphia. Funded the war with $125 million of his own money to supply food and blankets for the troops. He had 150 ships used in the war, and started the first trade ship in China. Founded numerous first time businesses in America, and started the Bank of North America, iron mills, glass companies, and owned the west side of New York. Held many first time offices in our New America government working hand and hand with George Washington. It goes on and on his accomplishments for America, he came to America from England, and orphaned at the age of fourteen in this strange unestablished America. Robert failed many times and had to remake himself again and again, even spending 31/2 years in a debtors prison at one point...He went forth to help form the New America. Wow, what happened to my generation? LOL Were slackers. LOL
