She was born in Toronto, Ont. and lived in downtown Toronto until marrying in her twenties... Karen studied visual arts at Seneca College in King City, Ont...A beautiful backdrop of nature to experience... Her art was put on the back burner during her early years of marriage and raising children... Karen rekindled this love affair with self discovery about seven years ago when she decided it was time for some self recovery; to stop hiding and step out of her comfort zone...Art has brought life back into life for Karen... Since then, it has been a steady path of small shows and displaying her art in local libraries and galleries... Karen Lee works mainly in acrylics and oil sticks and incorporates mixed media in much of her work... She has learned that squelching this desire to create, would squander her life... Karens subject matter is born with each passing day and comes from books and music that inspire... She is an artist that loves to capture moments in time, and feels an enthusiasm for life through her work...
