My wife and me were visiting Russian friends and we watched a Russian TV program with Russians cleverest people. One of the questions was why is the 5th symphony of Beethoven called the Victory symphony? One of the cleverest people came up with a logical answer: Because 5 is like the Roman V, for which he was applauded, but what was wrong. With my typical luck, which has always caused everybody to think that I know everything, I had read about it just a few days before: The symphony starts tit tit tit teeee which means V in the Morse code. It is several times repeated during the 1st movement. I rose highly in the eyes of the Russians as I had known what their cleverest minds had not.
